XpertSM is a social media marketing business that specialises in helping small businesses to grow their online presence.

The Pick’n’Fix competition

During our Watertight for Winter campaign, SES Business Water ran a competition to give a local business the opportunity to win £1000 to treat their team, along with an expert Watertight Makeover. The winner was able to choose three essential services from our Pick’n’Fix range. Three runners up also won Watertight Makeovers for their business premises, worth £150 each. XpertSM were one of our lucky runners-up.

What we did

XpertSM had a number of small maintenance issues with their water supply. We solved these for them, replacing several taps that were seized and improving the water flow through the shower.

The results

We’re delighted that we could make the repairs needed at XpertSM, as we know that during a hectic working day, even something as small as a seized tap can cause unnecessary inconvenience for busy staff.

Kat Wczesniak, Founder of XpertSM, said, “Thank you to SES Business Water for the Watertight Makeover – they may seem like small repairs but they will make my life easier!”

Sittingbourne FC is a semi-professional football club based in Kent. The club was established in 1886 and is one of the founding members of the Kent League. Sittingbourne FC rely largely on fundraising for their survival, so entered our Pick’n’Fix competition in the hope of winning some much-needed repairs to their clubhouse.

What we did

We visited Sittingbourne FC’s clubhouse to present the team with the prize money and carry out the repairs they had chosen. While on site, we discovered that two of the changing room showers were constantly running, so immediately got to work to shut them off. The showers will need extensive repairs to get them back to good working order and Sittingbourne FC have decided to use the £1000 to carry out these repairs. We’ve pledged to continue to work with the team on getting their facilities up to scratch, providing our time and resources at cost to make sure that their prize money goes as far as possible.

The results

We’re delighted to be able to help Sittingbourne FC make the repairs they need – a shower that leaks just 10 drips per minute wastes over 2000 litres of water per year, so they should see their utility bills reduced considerably!

Danny Appleton, chairman of Sittingbourne FC, said, “We’ve been fundraising to make some essential improvements to the clubhouse for a while now, so the money will come in really useful. SES Business Water have gone the extra mile – they’ve already carried out fixes in the clubhouse as part of the prize and they will be helping us to do more repairs”.

Bauhaus Café in Ashford, Kent is not your typical café – on the surface, it’s a café that serves tea and coffee sourced from across the globe. However, it’s also a not-for-profit business that has been set up to showcase the work of local artists, with regular gallery shows exhibiting art pieces from students and up-and-coming artists.

What we did

Bauhaus Café had a few common water maintenance jobs that we were able to fix straight away, including a dripping tap and a leak in the sink waste. There was also an issue with their stopcock as the isolation valve wouldn’t switch off, so we fitted a new stopcock for them.

The results

We’re delighted that we could make the repairs needed at Bauhaus Café, as we anticipate that the leaks we fixed will make a noticeable difference to their utility bills. The new stopcock will also be beneficial for the café as it’s critical to be able to switch the stopcock off in the event of a burst pipe.

Betsy Aidinyantz, manager of Bauhaus Café, said, “As a non-profit organisation, our priority is supporting artists and providing our customers with a high-quality service, so maintenance jobs like fixing leaks are often forgotten about. We’re really grateful for the Watertight Makeover we received as it means we can stop leaking money and use our funds to keep supporting local talent!”
